Austin Film Festival

The 21st Annual Austin Film Festival and Conference – four days of workshops and eight nights of film screenings and parties – will once again present an eclectic combination of potential blockbuster movies October 23rd through October 30th at various capital city venues.

What began as a way to celebrate great writing and storytelling through film in 1993 by Barbara Morgan and Marsha Milam, has become one of the most hailed film festivals in the world.  Known as the “Writer’s Festival,” the Austin Film Festival recognizes the talent and creativity of the written word and those who do it well.

To understand the growth and prestige of the Austin Film Festival in the film making industry, all one has to do is look back to the 2013 Austin Film Festival to find that 12 Years A Slave and Dallas Buyers Club – both having won three Oscars each – were included in screenings of that year’s festival.  WOW!

The Austin Film Festival includes an assorted blend of film screenings, parties, question and answer sessions, lectures and learning opportunities.

Additionally, legendary, contemporary and soon-to-be famous film makers, writers, cast members and more will gather throughout the festival and conference to collaborate, celebrate and glean from the amazing excess of original inspiration!

Austin, Texas and its vibrant diversity is the perfect place to bring together the pinnacle of narrative, documentary and animated films…and the best part is that top-notch industry leaders share their knowledge and insight!
