Austin Holiday Giving Opportunities

    Tis the season to give!!!

The holidays help us realize how fortunate we are and in return, make us think about those who are in need.  We have the opportunity to be the reason someone has a great holiday this year!!

We encourage you to take a look at the following local charities that still need donations to make the season bright for needy children, families, the homeless and others in our community!

Give the gift of hope this holiday!

Operation Blue Santa – The Austin Police Department has been reaching out to families in need through this charity since 1972.  Operation Blue Santa provides needy families with a holiday meal and toys for each child in the family up to age 14.  This charity depends on the donations of Austin residents, businesses and civic groups.  For more information or to donate, go to www.bluesanta.org .

Caritas of Austin – Founded in 1964, Caritas of Austin helps connect people experiencing poverty with the assistance they need.  Today, Caritas of Austin helps over 20,000 homeless, working poor and documented refugees in Travis County.  For more information or to donate, go to www.caritasofaustin.org.

Project Santa – The SAFE Alliance, a partnership between SafePlace and Austin’s Children Shelter, provides for the needs of children and families who are victims of abuse or neglect during the holiday season and beyond.  For more information or to donate, go to www.safeaustin.org.

Austin Diaper Bank – Help needy children and elderly by providing diapers of all sizes to the Austin Diaper Bank.  This is a gift of good health and well-being to the most vulnerable of our community.  It is their goal for 2017 to help over 5,000 local families.  For more information or to donate, go to www.austindiapers.org.
