Zilker Park Kite Festival: March 5th – This is the nation’s oldest kite festival! Pretty cool since it features hundreds of kites on the vast lawn of Zilker Park. This event is free and includes kite flying contests, food, entertainment and more! For more information go to www.abckitefestival.com.
SXSW® Music, Film and Interactive Conference and Festival: March 3rd – March 19th – What started in March 1987 has grown to be one of the premiere festivals in the world for the blending of music, film and interactive media. Rodeo Austin: March 11th – March 25th – Rodeo Austin started out as a small 16 animal stock show in 1938 and has grown into one of Austin’s largest events. Rodeo Austin features a top 10 ProRodeo, musical entertainment, a livestock show and a scholarship program that has donated millions to thousands of Texas youth. St. Patrick’s Day Festival: March 17th – This St. Patrick’s Day festivity, held at Pioneer Farms, is an annual event that is family-friendly and celebrates all things Irish! This event includes music, food, beverages, dancing and more! For more information go to www.stpatricksdayaustin.com.
Austin Urban Music Festival: March 31st – April 1st – This music festival is expecting over 15,000 attendees at Auditorium Shores and centers around R&B, neo-soul and hip-hop music. For more information go to www.urbanmusicfest.com.
Art City Austin: March 31st – April 2nd – The Art Alliance Austin hosts this annual art fair at the Palmer Events Center and celebrates over 100 artistic exhibits. For more information go to www.artallianceaustin.org.
