Austin’s New Visitor’s Center

Other cities might be trending toward closing their visitor’s center, but Austin is breaking the mold by opening up a brand new one to serve those who stopover in our amazing city!!

The 4,154 square-foot facility is located on the ground level of the Austin Convention Center Parking Garage on at the corner of Red River and East Fourth Streets and was officially unveiled on May 6th.

The central location in downtown is perfect for those staying in Austin for business, entertainment or vacation!

According to a recent Austin Business Journal article, the center will provide information to the approximate 21 million visitors that come to Austin each year.  This number is about three times as many visitors as our city had a decade ago.

The new location was built out by Harvey-Cleary Builders Inc. and designed by Runa Workshop. The Austin-themed space includes free WiFi, a media wall, gift shop, murals and other local art pieces to help visitors learn about our city and to be aware of the many opportunities Austin offers.  In addition, the center has future plans to host live music events, as well as book signings.

We encourage you to visit the new location and find out for yourself why Austin is so unique in almost everything we do!
