With that in mind, Austin is celebrating its weirdness with the 12th Annual Keep Austin Weird Festival and 5K on Saturday, June 28th from 2:00PM to 10:00PM at the Long Center for the Performing Arts located at 701 W. Riverside Drive.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to dress up in a weird costume and enter the costume contest during the festival – all the while participating in the ‘weirdness’ of Austin culture.
Throughout the festival there will be live local bands to keep everyone entertained as they peruse the uniquely Austin crafts, vendor booths, and food trailer favorites.
In addition, festival goers can enter the Slowest 5K on the Planet that begins at 7p.m. and takes participants around Lady Bird Lake and includes 12+ fun stops along the course. Weird costumes, running shoes, music and food…only in Austin!
The Keep Austin Weird festival is proud to support the Capital Area Food Bank and participants can donate by registering online at www.keepaustinweirdfest.com and/or bringing canned food items or monetary donations to the festival.
Cost for admission is $12 for the festival only. $25 for the festival and 5K for adults and $12 for the festival and 5K for children under age 12 (free for children under 12 with a donation of three canned food items). T-shirts are included with 5K registration.
Austin is an amazing city and we urge you to visit this unique festival that only Austin would think of!
