    Written by The Bucher Group

From pumpkin pie to apple spice, the fall season is full of enticing and welcoming scents. Whether you’re considering a home sale or you’re just looking to enjoy the warm and cozy aromas of the season, here are a couple of ways to make your home smell like fall:

    Simmer Spices
Fill a pot with water, fruit and spices. Bring the mixture to a boil and then simmer on low heat. The smell is incredible. One thing: make sure you top the water level while it is simmering. What ingredients should you use? Here’s a look at some great smelling recipes:

    • Apple Spice

      • One apple, sliced

      • ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon

      • Dash of ground cloves

    • Citrus Spice

      • Peels from two oranges

      • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

      • Dash of ground cloves

    • Citrus Apple Spice

      • Peels from two oranges

      • One apple, sliced

      • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

      • Dash of ground cloves

Make Herb and Spice Fire Starters
If the smell of the fire doesn’t do it, consider making these herb and spice fire starters. Here’s a look at the supplies needed:

    • Coffee filters

    • Embroidery thread and needle

    • Dried orange and apple peels

    • Cloves

    • Cinnamon sticks

    • Sprigs of fresh rosemary

    • Lavender

Combine all spices and then fill the coffee filters with a handful of the spice mixture and sew until the open is closed.

    Pumpkin Baked Goods
Tis the season of pumpkin everything! Bake a pumpkin pie or pumpkin bread to fill your home with the scent of freshly baked goods.

    Light Autumn-Scented Candles
Candles are a common staple during the fall and winter months. With that being said, they are everywhere. Head to a local home goods store or Bath & Body Works to pick up your favorite fall scent.

    Make Mulled Wine
Not only is mulled wine a great fall drink, but it will also make your home smell amazing! Here is a great recipe:

    • 1 bottle of dry red wine

    • 1 orange, sliced into rounds

    • 8 whole cloves

    • 2 cinnamon sticks

    • 2 star anise

    • 2-4 tablespoons sugar, honey or syrup

Your home will smell like fall before you know it! And, if you’re selling, the scent will WOW potential buyers.
