Our amazing city and surrounding areas have plenty of light displays to choose from and many are free, while others cost a bit to enjoy. Either way, you won’t be disappointed by the luminous lights that twinkle as you meander through the streets and make memories of your own!
The Trail of Lights – This Austin original opens December 10th and runs every night from 7-10pm until December 23rd. Admission is free until December 17th when they start charging $3 for everyone 12 and over. Parking is $15 and must be purchased online.
Mozart’s Coffee Roasters & Bakery – Mozart’s on Lake Austin is known for great coffee, awesome views and a great holiday lights shows! From now until January, you can enjoy a 12-minute light display that plays every hour starting at 6pm. It’s free, festive and a great way to get you in the holiday spirit!
The 37th Street Neighborhood Lights – The 37th Street neighbors have been putting up an amazing light display for over 25 years. Take a stroll or drive through this unique neighborhood to see the homes decked out with outrageous, quirky and crazy lights throughout the month of December.
The Domain’s Holiday Lights Shows – Watch more than 200,000 lights twinkle and dance in synchronization to holiday music at the Domain between Dick’s Sporting Goods and Dillards every night at 6pm, 7pm and 8pm until January 1.
Barton Creek Holiday Lights & Ice – Starting December 16th until January 1st you can enjoy some twinkling lights as you skate on their 4000 square foot indoor ice rink overlooking the scenic Hill Country. Cost is between $20-$30 and a portion of proceeds benefits Make-A-Wish® Central & South Texas! For more information go to Holiday Lights and Ice.
Lakeway’s Lights On! Trail of Lights – Enjoy thousands of lights that illuminate the walking trails next to the Lakeway City Hall at 1102 Lohmans Crossing in the month of December. You’ll see everything from candy canes to Christmas trees. This Lakeway holiday tradition is on display nightly from 6 PM to midnight through the end of the year. Access the trail from the lower level of the parking lot at the Lakeway Activity Center (105 Cross Creek) or by parking behind City Hall (1102 Lohmans Crossing at the corner of Lohmans and Sailmaster).
Rock’N Lights Holiday Lights Tour – Drive through the 5th annual Rock’N Lights Holiday Light Tour and see over 2 million lights in all new displays this year until December 26th. Cars cost $15 and limos are $50. The entrance to Rock’N Lights Holiday Light Tour is located at Old Settlers Park. After the light show, take some time to visit the Christmas Towne at the Old Settlers Association and the Dell Diamond parking lot. The Christmas Towne features light displays, carnival rides, a light maze, go kart rides, holiday food, and much more.
