Austin Is The Best Place To Live

The U.S. News and World Report ranks Austin as the best place to live in the nation in 2017!  This prestigious honor is not a surprise for many of us who already live here and know the many advantages of living in Austin!

The magazine’s 2017 edition of its Best Places to Live in the U.S. list evaluated 100 metropolitan areas in the U.S. and rated them based on quality of life, job market, value of living and desirability.

Austin comes in at the top spot followed by Denver, San Jose, Washington D.C., Fayetteville, Seattle, Raleigh & Durham, Boston, Des Moines, Seattle and many others.

Some of the statistics that make Austin a wonderful place to live include:

    ·        Population – 1,889,094

    ·        Median Age – 33.6

    ·        Unemployment Rate – 3.2%

    ·        Average Annual Salary – $49,560

    ·        Median Home Price – $262,182

    ·        Average Monthly Rent – $1,044

    ·        Average High/Low Temperature – 79.7/54.8

    ·        Average Annual Rainfall – 32.2 inches

    ·        Average Commute Time – 26.2 minutes

In our opinion, Austin is by far the winner when it comes to where our beloved city sits on the map and the many places in and around that creates a perfect spot to call home.

The gorgeous hill country scenery, clear water lakes and amazing landscape allow residents and visitors alike the opportunity to enjoy the amazing outdoors.  Austin has plenty to offer the outdoor buff with Mount Bonnell, Ladybird Lake, Barton Springs and Zilker Park…not to mention the many parks and recreation just beyond our city limits!

Of course, it doesn’t hurt that Austin is touted as the “Live Music Capital” or that we are home to many activities including: Austin City Limits Festival, South by Southwest, Fun, Fun, Fun Fest, Rodeo Austin, Formula One, Round Rock Express, Texas Stars, Austin Spurs and much more.

Other draws to our great city are that we are the capital of Texas and home to the University of Texas.

Our diverse culture creates opportunities for anyone and everyone to enjoy calling Austin HOME!
