These Austin festivities have something for everyone! This is not a comprehensive list of July 4th celebrations, but it does include several local activities in Austin, Cedar Park, Leander, Lakeway, Georgetown, Round Rock, and Pflugerville.
The 39th Annual Austin Symphony H-E-B July 4th Concert & Fireworks will be held July 4th from 7-10pm at Auditorium Shores. This Austin tradition features a free concert by the Austin Symphony, along with a fabulous fireworks show to end the evening. This celebration will also include a variety of refreshments, arts and crafts from local vendors. www.austinsymphony.org
Bob Schneider’s 4th of July Bash takes place at the Nutty Brown Café on Highway 290 with doors opening at 6pm and the show starting at 7:30pm. Cost is $17 for all ages and includes opening acts Wink Burcham and The Digital Wild, along with a fireworks show. http://nuttybrown.com/bob-schneiders-4th-of-july-bash
Cedar Park’s 4th of July Parade and Celebration begins with a parade at 10am that starts at the Cedar Park Center and travels down Discovery Blvd. to the Cedar Park Recreation Center. The celebration then continues at Elizabeth Milburn Park on Sun Chase Blvd at 4pm with fireworks at 9:15pm and a concert immediately after the fireworks display. Activities include live music, bingo, a washer tournament, air castles, and free watermelon. This is a free event, but fees do apply for food concessions and some of the activities.
Round Rock Frontier Days Festival & Fireworks is set to take place at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock. A parade will kick off the event on Old Settlers Blvd at 10am and the Frontier Days Festival will open at noon. Fireworks are scheduled at dark. This free festival includes carnival rides, jalapeno pepper eating contest, Swifty Swine Pig Races, children’s games, Sam Bass Shootout, watermelon and the Austin Symphonic Band. Leander’s Liberty Fest happens on July 4th from 5-10pm between San Gabriel Parkway and Hero Way. There are two entrances to the festival. Entrance A is located on US 183A South (between San Gabriel Parkway and Hero Way) and Entrance B is located on Hero Way (between Mel Mathis and US 183A). Fireworks begin at 9pm. Festival activities include live music that will feature Granger Smith and Gary P. Nunn, refreshment merchants and arts and crafts vendors, and children’s activities. http://www.leandertx.gov/parksrec/page/liberty-fest
Georgetown’s Sertoma 4th of July Celebration is scheduled to be held at San Gabriel Park (455 E Morrow St, Georgetown) at 11am-10pm on July 4th. Fireworks will begin around 9:30pm. A parade kicks off the celebration at 11am and activities include 60 arts and craft booths, 20 food vendors, children rides, bounce houses, games, petting zoo and live music. http://www.georgetownsertoma.org/4thofjuly.htm
Willie Nelson’s 4th of July Picnic will be held at the Austin360 Amphitheater (9201 Circuit of the Americas Blvd) starting at noon. Prices start at $35 per person and include 20 artists on two stages and a fireworks display at sunset. http://circuitoftheamericas.com/willie
Hill Country Galleria Independence Day Festival is free and planned for July 4th from 4pm-10pm. Activities include live music, over 75 art vendors, food, carnival and fireworks!
Lakeway’s July 4th Celebration starts the ball rolling at 8:30am with a parade on Lakeway Drive that will wind its way from the Live Oak Golf Course to the Lakeway Activity Center. The Pageantry of Flags will immediately follow at 10:30am. Festivities will continue from Noon - 6:00pm at the Lakeway Swim Center with special pricing - $3.00 per person. Fireworks are not scheduled for this event.
Pflugerville Pfirecracker Pfestival will be held July 3rd from 3-11pm at Lake Pflugerville on Weiss Lane. The event features live music, kids’ activities, food vendors, and arts and crafts vendors. The fireworks show commences at dark.
Fireworks at the Quarries is set at Hyde Park Baptist Church and the Quarries on July 3rd at 1400 N. Mopac Expressway and will feature a beautiful fireworks show at sundown.
