    Mother's Day In Austin

This Sunday, May 10th, marks the day where mothers everywhere are celebrated for their love, kindness, hard work, support, encouragement, assistance, guidance, and much, much more!

Mothers and those who love us like mothers deserve some recognition and relaxation for all of their efforts to provide us a safe, loving and secure spot in this world!

With this in mind, we thought we would help you figure out what to for the moms in your life and where to take these special ladies in Austin.

We found a great website that gives a list of Austin restaurants and what they require for their Mother’s Day events that range from breakfast, lunch, dinner, brunch and anything in-between!  Go to OpenTableAustin to find out special deals, menus, times and reservations for restaurants in your area.

If you are looking to take your mom out for more than just a great meal then do512.com has several ideas including the Ballet Austin presentation of Swan Lake at the Long Center for Performing Arts.  Additionally, Austin.CultureMap.com has a great article citing six fun things to do in Austin to spoil any type of mom!

Another idea to do with your mom this weekend is to discover the West Austin Studio Tour.  This event is free and runs May 9-10 and then again May 16-17 throughout the West Austin area.  For more information on this eclectic, self-guided tour that teaches about Austin’s artistic talent and explores our city’s various art galleries, go to www.west.bigmedium.org.

Austin has something for everyone!  Between shopping at the Domain to browsing the assorted mix of shops, restaurants, bars and people in the SoCo area, Austin has the cuisine, entertainment and activities you are looking for to make mom’s day special!!

Some fun facts about this special holiday is that over 120 million cards will be exchanged and more fresh flowers and plants are purchased for Mother’s Day than any holiday, except for Christmas and Hanukah.

Of course, cards and flowers are always great things to do for the mom in your life, but just spending time with her will mean more than the world!

    Happy Mother’s Day!
