5 Curb Appeal Tips That’ll Get Your Home Sold

Written by The Bucher Group

First impressions really do matter, even when it comes to your home. While online is the first place a buyer will look, the first thing they will see at the showing is the front yard. How does your front yard look? Is it welcoming? Does it make you want to see the inside of the home? If not, now may be the time to increase your home’s appearance. These five curb appeal tips should do the trick:

Landscape
Cut back trees and shrubs so your home is completely visible. From here, start landscaping. Trim and prune your plants, incorporate seasonal flowers, add fresh mulch to you ...

Considering a Kitchen Remodel? Here Are Some Tips to Help You Get Started

Written by The Bucher Group

No matter the scale, a kitchen remodel is no easy feat. But, with that being said, it can be done and done right if you keep a few things in mind. Here’s a look at a few tips to help you get started on your kitchen remodel:

Plan Way Ahead
As it turns out, you should start planning your kitchen remodel a year ahead of time. The more you plan, the more smoothly the project will go. First and foremost, prepare your budget. Once you have your plan, stick to it. Changing a major appliance or layout halfway through can throw everything off.

Design it For You
Make the kitchen layout work for you. Do you want a galley kitchen? Do you want a big center island? Consider what you want and try to make it happen. After all, it is your kitchen.

Think Resa ...

Home Inspection: What You Need to Know

Written by The Bucher Group

Unless it's a glaring issue or you inspect your home on a regular basis, it is hard to know when there is an underlying maintenance issue within your home. That’s where a home inspection comes in. While these are especially important for homebuyers, they are also useful for a homeowner as knowing what is wrong with your home can help when it comes time to sell. What do you need to know about a home inspection? Here’s a look:

What is a home inspection?
A home inspection, as defined by the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI), is an objective visual examination of the physical structure and systems of a house, from the roof to the foundation.

Curious what’s happening in our local market and how it affects your home value? According to the May 2018 Central Texas Housing Market Report from the Austin Board of REALTORS®, the Austin area continues to see a decrease in housing inventory and an increase in the demand for housing. These statistics prove we are still in a seller’s market and buying a house remains out of reach for several first-time homebuyers. What are the details? Here’s a look:

The median price for single-family homes in the Austin area increased five percent year-over-year to $325,000 in May, an all-time high for the area. At the same time, home sales increased four percent to 3,210 sales and housing inventory decreased to 2.7 months - indicating a strong seller’s market (six months represents a “balanced market”).

What else should you know as a resident of the Austin area? Home price growth has exponentially outpaced the median family income growth in the Austin-Round R ...
