Rodeo Austin 2015

It’s Rodeo time once again in Austin – where weird meets western – at the Travis County Expo Center from March 14-28!!!

This year Rodeo Austin is celebrating 77 years of rich western history that has grown from a stock show with 16 animals to one of Austin’s annual premiere events, which reportedly yields $77 million for the Austin economy – a 12% growth since 2011.

Average attendance runs approximately 300,000 and Rodeo Austin is one of Austin’s largest growing charities, having awarded $2.5 million to the young people of Texas in 2014.

Rodeo Austin works with Texas universities, 4-H and FFA programs to provide scholarships to deserving students.  Since the program’s inception in 1981, over $6.5 million have been provided in college scholarships.

The ever-growing Rodeo Austin comprises of a stock show, rodeo events, live musical performances, fair and other special events including a BBQ Auction and Dance, Cowboy Breakfast and more.

Moreover, Rodeo Austin’s live music this year will feature headliners such as Martina McBride, Willie Nelson and The Beach Boys.

One of America’s top 10 ProRodeos, Rodeo Austin provides breath-taking entertainment with competitions in bull riding, barrel racing, roping and more.  The crowd favorite always seems to be mutton busting which involves aspiring young cowboys and cowgirls try to stay aboard a sheep for at least six seconds.

Rodeo Austin offers attractions for all ages!  And as it falls on most local school districts’ Spring Break, it is a great opportunity to entertain the kids with the fair’s rides, games, food and more.  All without leaving town!!

Prices vary depending on the event you choose to attend.  For all prices and more Rodeo Austin information, please go to www.rodeoaustin.com.
