SXSW 2015

This Friday marks the beginning of the 28th Annual SXSW Conference and Festival in our great city of Austin, Texas!

What started out as an eclectic music festival in the Texas capital that wasn’t – at that time – even one of the top 20 major markets in the U.S. has become one of the most critically acclaimed events in the world.

Creative people from everywhere come to Austin each year to develop their careers, meet other like-minded individuals, discover new techniques and share ideas.

From industry leaders to struggling artists, there is a place for everyone at SXSW.

With the addition of the film and interactive pieces of the festival in 1994, SXSW has created a forum for registrants and artists to experience a plethora of original music, independent films and emerging technologies.

This year’s conference and festival include:

    1. SXSW Interactive – March 13-17
    2. SXSW Film – March 13-21
    3. SXSW Music – March 17-22

The Austin Convention Center will accommodate the Trade Show, Conference Events and Special Events, but films and music shows will be held at 50+ other locations around downtown Austin.  Additionally, be on the look-out for art around town with a lightshow in Republic Square Park and mural installations throughout the city.

Snoop Dogg is slated as the keynote speaker of the SXSW Music Festival on March 20th and Al Gore is set to discuss climate change on the 13th.

Due to the tragic driving incident in 2014, Austin voted to limit this year’s SXSW special events to 114, which is a 32% decrease from last year.

The economic impact of SXSW to the city of Austin rose to $314 million in 2014 with over 72,000 registrants and artists in attendance.

For more information on specific music performances, films and interactive events please go to www.sxsw.com.  Registration badges are required to access any and all SXSW events.

SXSW is just another reason why Austin is such a great town with amazing talent!!!  Enjoy all that Austin has to offer!!!
